Unless you actually mean them-

I love you and I’m sorry are the two easiest things to say…..unless you actually mean them.

Friend 1: says they will be there for you at the drop of a hat, would do anything for you and when the time comes steps up to the plate and goes above and beyond what you need/want/expect.

Friend 2: says they will be there for you, will do anything for you and is your best friend. Tough times come up and when you look around they are no where to be found.

Friend 3: suprises you and in the moment of need is there before anyone else

I have been personally going through some really tough times physically (and as a result emotionally) lately. These times have lead to situations that have really opened my eyes to those around me.

They will never be shut again.

No matter how many times it is said some people just don’t understand…actions speak much, much louder than words.

so true!

growth is not about eliminating problems. there will always be problems, that is life. growth is about learning to deal with them, taking care of business, and moving forward with a good attitude…..

Thanks Liz :)

money can’t buy you love…

very true it cannot. BUT it can buy financial security. financial security boosts self esteem since you’d worry less and have a more stable environment. self esteem boosts your natural attractiveness thereby bringing you possible love.

so…hmmm…maybe money can buy love.

or maybe i just really want to win the lottery so I can go on a tropical vacation, yes. that must be it!

another interesting and timely horoscope for today..

All the financial hardships you have suffered the past while are going to be seen as a blessing in disguise today. You have an opportunity to transform trouble into a world-class opportunity to make a bundle. Sink any benefits into debt reduction.

Will do!!!

my horoscope today

“Today is all about you, and you will be alternatively patting yourself on the back, then beating yourself up. Both extremes are not good for your self-esteem. Just remember that you are a human being, regardless of whether you are winning or losing the game from one moment to the next.”

hmmm so appropriate today!

reorganization and focus

so this weekend, with the help of my awesome cousin Nicole, I sat down, pulled my credit report and grabbed every bill that I have and organized them all.

Then I made a plan of attack. Put all the bills into an order that I can get them paid off and out of debt sooner than later.

The only sucky part…..student loans. Oh yeah those things. no worries at my current payment a month I’ll be done paying them in 10 years and 7 months…so right before I start thinking about retirement!!

Sweet!

Thankfully I do feel more like I have a plan of attack and am feeling more focused and determined than before.

Happy New Year! (yes, I realize it’s the 11th)

I do not normally like to make resolutions but I am setting some goals for myself for this year:

1. to learn how to put myself first a little bit. This does not mean ignoring my responsibilities it means finding an hour or so a week for me time. Maybe joining an exercise class (the boyfriend thinks I’d be less stressed if I took a self-defense class and learned how to hit things…not sure how that would work out, possibly not in his best interest since he’d be in the class, sorry for the black eye honey, pick me up at 7 on Saturday :)) or just having some time to myself

2. Complete my third class and get my GBA (general benefits administrator) designation by the end of February. Aiming for the February 13th exam.

3. Complete my first exam towards my CMS (Compensation Management Specialist) designation by the end of May 2012, the second exam by the end of August 2012 and complete the final exam and earn my CMS designation by the end of December 2012.

4. take the kids on a vacation just the three of us. It can be just for the weekend or for a few days. I have my eyes on a sleepover adventure weekend at the Smithsonian.

5. Lose the last 10 pounds that are hanging around- namely around my abs- and keep the weight off for the year. Changing my eating habits for the better.

6. Save at least $7,000

7. Clean up my credit score.

8.  focus on taking things one day at a time.

9. focus on being happy, healthy and enjoying everything this year has to offer.

and that my friends is how I plan on making 2012 mine :)

success!!

I feel like I am at a point where I have reached personal success with my lifestyle change. Yes, I am calling it a lifestyle change instead of a diet because that is truly what it is. I took the kids out to Friendly’s tonight and normally we’d get an appetizer, possibly dinner and huge sundaes…at 9pm, just because we were in a restaurant.

Tonight no appetizer and a happy ending sundae. No thrills, no extras and I did not even feel deprived.

That is what I like. The feeling of personal success.

During the day it is realizing  when you are actually hungry. It is realizing that you don’t need to have that snack because you’re “hungry” you are reaching for food because you are bored or you are used to eating when you are studying (I am such a victim of that!). It is learning to listen to your body when it is telling you things.

My body is saying THANK YOU. Thank you for finally listening to me! Thank you for making this change.

I have so much more energy. I have even had less vertigo incidents the past few weeks. I contribute that to the extra water in my body.

I thought when I started this it was so going to be so hard. Giving things up and having to sacrifice.

I didn’t look at all the things I was going to gain.
